Junior Achievement

The Ryerson PTO is excited to bring "JA in a Day" back to our school and we need YOUR help!

What is Junior Achievement?! JA in a Day is a Junior Achievement program that brings real-life financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness skills to elementary age students. We're happy to be able to offer this engaging experience again for the second year in a row!

What we need! We are seeking 2 volunteers for each classroom to help facilitate this program on Friday, March 7, 9-11am. Volunteers will be treated to a continental breakfast starting at 8:15am in the library.

What do volunteers do?  Volunteers participate in a training session by Junior Achievement facilitator prior to the event where they will receive their classroom materials. On the day of the event, volunteers conduct the lessons (prepared and designed by Junior Achievement!) in their assigned classrooms.

Who can volunteer?! Any parent, grandparent, caregiver can volunteer! JA volunteers are not required to have particular business or finance backgrounds. Junior Achievement has a complete lesson plan for each classroom and grade level. The curriculum is all prepared by Junior Achievement and will be explained to volunteers during a training session on Thursday, February 20th at 6pm in the multi-purpose room.

We realize this is a significant time commitment and appreciate your help in making this day a HUGE success for the kids!

Interested parents, grandparents and caregivers can sign up by clicking below. Please click on the classroom and then scroll to the bottom of the form and click "Save." The deadline to sign up is February 15.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on this exciting day!
